Weekly update January 23rd, 2022

Hi Everyone,

It'd been a busy and cold week. Lots of errands.. and such.

Still getting Christmas cards in the mail this week. I still have 2 birthday cards that haven't arrived yet. Postal issues with my car payment. Mailed on 12/16...still hasn't arrived. Hence the lots of errands.

Cold temperatures... This is Saturday... see the low of -18 ° F?  Macey decided that she had to go ...so out we went at 2:30 am. Yes it was -18! Without the wind chill .  It was a quick walk... Then Saturday I fell in the fresh snow (my foot slipped while stepping over a snowbank). ugh...Feeling it today.

Yes, the indoor temp is 80 because I took the picture when the oven was on.. making some banana bread and the house warmed up.

I signed up for the  Love2Stitch2022 challenge at Embroidery.com

Not sure If I will work on the same piece each day/week  or just put in a half hour for the challenge and stitch other things later. It depends on what comes in this week. (I have a few things on order...some from March of last year.)

Stitching:

I still don't know how I should count my two sided finishes .. so I'm going with A&B... instead of numbering each one separately.

** It's Monday01/17 and my thread orders ( yep...from more than one online shop) still hadn't shipped... and I wanted my partner to receive her exchange..so I got a little creative - I ran out of 3777 so I stitched the bird in DMC 321. I also didn't have enough 3777 for the scarf - So I made the scarf orange which ties in with the monthly (optional) challenge.

***Both orders shipped on Tuesday.

I mailed out my exchange package this week... so I hope my partner receives it so I can share next week.

I wanted the card to match the theme.. but all I had with snow (sledding) was a Christmas card.. so I cut off the back and added a new blank backing. but I forgot to take a pic of the card.

Weekly Update January 9th, 2022

 Hi Everyone,

This is a little late because I've had trouble with Blogger. My text keeps changing colors and my photos don't keep the position that I set. So I finally scrapped my older post and started from scratch.

It's been a quiet week. DH was ill since last Sunday evening. Fever, chills...and a few other symptoms ...etc.  We're pretty sure it was a UTI. He has a few kidney stone shards that are being monitored so it might have been that. Lots of fluids and he is better now.

Sunday was another storm. Predicted  a mix / snow so I was up at 4am with Macey to avoid slipping. Macey decided to get us up at 2am as she was thirsty and wanted her walk and breakfast then. ( I don't think so!) LOL!

Spent some time cutting fabric to make some vinyl project bags and thread catcher mats for my birthday floss girls.. and a few for my exchange partner. Sewing will have to wait until I get a little more sleep.

Weekly update December 26th, 2021

Hi Everyone,

Time for my weekly update.

We had a quiet icy Christmas. Since we knew it was coming, we cooked Christmas dinner a day early and had Mom over to enjoy some shows and meal. We brought her home with a few more meals for the weekend.

Stitching Plans for next year:

I have thinking about my stitching for next year -  but haven't finalized any plans. I think that it's because I am still waiting for some hand dyed fabric to arrive. Some from March and another order from Labor Day.

I did sign up for the Crazy Annie's Exclusive club - 12 days of Christmas Stocking by Annie Beez. The teaser looked cute and I went with the 14 ct black aida so my tired eyes won't have to work as hard.

I saw that Jeannette Douglas Designs is going to offer her Mini bouquets monthly - I hope to be able to keep up. Still deciding if I want to do them separately or together. Thinking I might want to do them separately.

I have a monthly pen pal exchange set up. Small stitches and a note each month. Will share after she receives her package. We have the entire month to mail.. so It might be a month later before I post.

I signed up with the birthday DMC Floss group again this year. Still deciding on what goodies I want to send with a card and skein of floss.

Ornaments for my brother the traveling nurse - Have a few states to catch up on.

Three bigger full coverage projects that I want to start this year. Artecy: Battle on the High Seas, ThreadGeeks:The Alchemist , and HAED: QS Fierce

Erica Michaels  Berries for the seasons At least one berry for each season.

Mani di Donna Seasons

I would like to do a 3D finish...maybe a cube finish...thinking about Blue ribbon designs patriotic wishes - or perhaps that little greenhouse in the Cross Stitcher (UK) magazine..or maybe the JDD series HOME?

Some of the baseball charts in my stash as well as some dog ones....I saw a cut fabric flair fabric that I love..need to find the right chart for it. (Poppies)

So much to stitch..so little time... I'll wing it but it will be interesting at year end 2022 to see if I accomplished anything on the list above.

Weekly update December 19th, 2021

Hi Everyone,
It's been quite the two weeks... I haven't been stitching much - probably just overtired.

We have strong wind gusts the past two weekends that caused trees to come down and power outages. Fist one was 16 hours. House drooped down to 59 degrees F. The next weekend brought more gusty winds and another power outage. This time for only a few hours. Wind and warmer temperatures meant that by mid week we had very little snow left. But a lot of cleanup to do. Lots of branches down all over the yard...so they had to come up before they became a tripping hazard when walking Macey. Another birch by the pond came down. Sadly yesterday's weather brought us some snow with a bit of mix so it will probably be there until the spring.

Power otages messed with out tv - wasn't working so we tried several fixed.. Called for service- they're short staffed due to COVID. But when the over the phone fix didn't work, they sent someone out to repair it.

Finally received my car registration renewal (from early October) in the mail this week

Had suspected fraud on one of my credit cards.. so a day was wasted on that and I'm anxiously waiting for a replacement to come.  There is a new exclusive kit at Acorns & Threads by Heartstring Samplery called Winter Comes.

Had a dental appointment to replace a filling mid week (the day before my birthday). Yes,  I'm another year older and yes..I saw snow flurries on my birthday.

Took Mom grocery shopping on Friday before the bad weather. I was glad to get her out if only for a day.

Today was spent shoveling here and at Mom's then coming home and falling asleep. Still have a few things to get out in the mail. They will be late this year.

I'm still arranging my stitching area - putting things away. Moving things around ...etc. The new loveseat is a little wider and longer than the older one.

Stitching:

Finished the front that I started last week and finished the back. Just need to assemble.
