Hello Everyone,
I had a wonderful day yesterday! Last week while browsing through my Just Cross Stitch magazine, I mentioned to my DH that there was a shop listed in Williston, Vermont (about 90 miles away). I emailed the shop to get their hours, thinking that maybe we'd stop there sometime in the fall.
Yesterday, DH thought we could use a nice day out, so we started out mid morning, and almost 2 hours later we were at the Barnes and Noble in South Burlington, Vermont. We left there and continued toward The Whistling Duck Needlecraft and Gift Shop in Williston, Vermont. It took a little searching to find the shop as I didn't bother to get directions before we left.
We were greeted by the owner, Bonnie. The shop has such lovely gift items, jewelry, beautiful curtains, and words can not describe the shop models that are displayed. I had such an enjoyable hour finding some treasures and chatting with Bonnie. It's been more than ten years since I have been inside a brick and
mortar needle shop, and all I can say is it was like heaven. So many delightful items to choose. Next time
I'll plan ahead and have my camera with me.
Here's what I brought home - mostly autumn and patriotic - and I couldn't resist the new Prairie Schooler Santa, especially since all the charts were on sale.
And if you buy charts, you have to get some fabric, threads, and a few cute buttons, right?
Today DH had to have some oral surgery. Everything went well. When we got home, I started to finish my PS Eagle freebie as a beaded scissor fob, but I didn't have enough delica beads to finish the edging, so that will have to wait until they arrive next week.
Have a wonderful day!
Lisa
I see you found a Prairie Fairy!! I have the stitching fairy to do yet. I just posted the spring cleaning fairy and the prairie fairy. You are going to enjoy stitching her.
ReplyDeleteNice stash!
It sounds like you guys had a wonderful day out. You got some wonderful new projects.
ReplyDeleteI hope that your husband's surgery goes well.
Have a great weekend.
Sounds like the perfect day out to me Lisa. I'm glad you managed to get stocked up with plenty of stash. It's so nice to see fabric 'in the flesh' so to speak. I've made expensive errors buying fabric online.
