Soldier Cameo

Here's my first beaded ornament / suncatcher for the year. It's hard to get a good picture as the light reflects off the beads.

A Love freebie

Since I've last posted, I have been stitching away. I got started on my HAED SAL SK Forbidden Doorway - will post an update soon.

I spent early January looking through my patterns to pick out projects for my two Valentine exchanges. I found one that I wanted to stitch, and placed an order for a few of the threads that I wanted to use. Anyhow, the threads were back-ordered. A week later I was told that one of the special threads that I had wanted was no longer available. I came up with a substitute, and that is on backorder.

I started looking online at patterns, and found this lovely freebie from IStitch.

Fabric: 28ct Carnation Pink Jubilee

Threads: HDF Examplar Dried Roses

Stitched Count: 42W x 11H, 2 over 2

I did eventually pick out my exchange projects. Stitching is finished and now I just have to "finish" them.

Hope you have a Love-ly day.

Bird Brained

The past few days, when I wasn't working on my new HAED start, I was pulling threads and looking for charts. Somehow, I signed up for 2 exchanges that are both due at the end of January. So while I await my partners info I thought that I'd get a little bit of a head start.

Since there isn't enough to show on my new start HAED, I thought I'd share this lovely tin that I made for my best friend's daughter. I lined it with an extra layer of batting so that it could work as a pin cushion. I filled it with a package of needles, some colored pins, and a pair of purple scissors. She is just beginning to learn how to stitch. Last year I sent a tin to her Mom, and she requested that I make another one for her daughter.
